Its about that time!

Soccer was over and done with well before Thanksgiving. Then a few short weeks later, it was time for Upward Cheerleading registration!

It was also time for basketball registration as well. And Jayce is old enough to play. However, I didn't even mention this to him. I think I'm still recovering from his 4 year old soccer team :) I think soccer is an easier sport for him because it requires much less hand/eye coordination, but still works on his gross motor skills and endurance. We'll try soccer with him again in the Fall, but for now, he'll take a break on sports.

Jaina, however, is super excited to be cheering again! She's already made friends with the girls on her squad.

And guess who her coach is.

Yep.

That would be me.

You would *think* that I had learned my lesson when I was assistant coach to Jayce's soccer team in the Fall. But no, I'm a glutton for punishment.

I just have the hardest time telling people "no", especially in a volunteer position. I mean, honestly, Upward never has enough coaches that volunteer. Never. They are always begging people at the last minute. I feel so bad about that! Besides, even though I've never cheered a day in my life (I certainly wasn't cheerleader material in HS!), I did get to tag along last year with my friend Brittany and she made it look so easy. Plus, they give you a DVD that teaches you how to break cheers down and teach them. And my girls are ages 6-10 so its not like they are doing crazy stunts and jumps. Its Upwards for goodness sakes.

Anyway, our first game is this Saturday! I'm not quite sure how I'll take pictures AND coach at the same time, but maybe my mom will be nice enough to snap some shots for me with my new 85 mm lens. Goodness knows Brian won't do it (insert rolling eyes here).

Oh, and soon as I got her uniform in, I knew I wanted to order a custom made bow. A couple days later, I found this site and am in the process of ordering it right now!! YAY!! I love the internet :)

  7. Yeah! Thank you. That was like torture. Well, not quite. But it sure sucked wanting to leave a comment and not being able to. How about that? You had people begging you to let them leave comments!
