Christmas Eve 2012

We have a few traditions on Christmas Eve. First, we attend breakfast with our friends at Denny's (along with 1/2 the town... its THAT crowded!). Then we usually go to the Mall for last minute stuff. The mall wasn't too insane this year and we got a great parking spot! While the kids and I were at the mall, Brian was at Walgreens buying my stocking stuff. What can I say.... we love to wait until the last minute for stuff!

This year we added a new activity to our Christmas Eve line up. Although our family has never affiliated with a particular church, denomination, or faith, our kids have been attending a small church branch that our neighbors started in their home. On Christmas Eve, we got to attend the kids' Christmas Pageant. Jaina was an angel and the narrator. Jayce was a shepherd and also played the prelude music.

After the beautiful Pageant, we headed over to FT and Nancy's house to open Christmas presents with Brian's best friend's family. Christmas Eve was even more fun this year with two new babies to add to the mix!

(sorry for the crappy cell phone pics)

We got home at 8 PM, just in time to make deviled eggs (which is what my kids requested to eat for dinner!), bake cookies, open up their new matching Christmas pajamas, and write letters to Santa.

Although the big kids didn't get in bed until 9:30 or go to sleep until 10:30, Grandma had Jocelyn out like a light before that :)

Just in time for Santa to come...

Pre-Christmas Collages

I was going to dedicate an entire post by itself to each and every Pre-Christmas activity that we participated in this December.

However....

I SO don't have time for that.

Its already the night before the night before Christmas!

This is what we've been up to....

Lots and lots of crafting! We made hand-painted ornaments for teachers, former teachers, and therapists.

We missed our local town's parade but managed to make it to the big one down town!

We attended Jayce's LAST Christmas party at his Occupational Therapy office! He's been with this hospital since he was 2!

Brian and I took Jaina to "Dickens of a Christmas".

We decorated our house for Christmas as well.

But what took center stage the past few weeks was the dreaded flu.

We are all feeling much better now, just in time for Christmas!

Pre-Christmas Photo Dump

Look at that face....
Its the face of a baby who has just tasted her very first fried onion ring.

Jocelyn loves our Little People Nativity set

And loves knocking it over even more. She sent Baby Jesus flying across the room.

Later that same day we went bowling as a family. Jayce has been asking to do this for a month at least! We had to wait for our weekends to free up.

A few minutes after this picture was taken, Jayce said, "I don't want to go to the store. I don't feel good. I just want to take a nap." Since Grandma only lives 5 minutes from the bowling alley, we dropped him off and continued on our way. Jayce would sleep for 2.5 hours and then wake up with a full onset of the flu (Type A).

Jocelyn wanted Brian's soda bottle very badly. She tried hard to get out of the sling so she could reach it in the cart.

While Jayce was home sick, we decorated ornaments for our friends and teachers and therapists.

Jocelyn helped us by taking out everything in our craft box.

Luckily Jayce was well enough to attend his class Christmas party yesterday :)

Love my boys! Um... maybe not the boy on the right. He's kind of a goof. He totally photobombed my picture after I repeatedly asked him not to.

Anyway, that was our week in a nutshell!

Just a little busy

Since my kids are keeping me home sick with the flu, I have been slightly better about blogging this week. I apologize for the past 3 months, however, that I've been all but silent.

I've been just a little busy :)

What have I been doing?

A whole lot of picture taking....

And these aren't even all the sessions. There several clients who want their pictures to stay secret until after Christmas :)

I love my job :)
