We make Gingerbread men cookies every year, but this year was super fun because Jocelyn and I read the story before we started baking. She kept saying, "But he's just a cookie! He can't really run! That's silly!"
Jayce's Gingerbread Man:
Jaina gave her man blue eyes, black pants, and a plaid shirt:
Jocelyn dictated what she wanted her Gingerbread Man to look like, but Mommy had to do the actual decorating.
Even Brian, who can be a bit of a curmudgeon about the holidays, gets in on the fun.
Jayce outlined his man in all black icing. That was fun to eat! (and clean up afterwards!)
Brian's Super Hero Gingerbread Man:
The kids and Brian were very creative and made, and ate, two Gingerbread Men a piece.
I barely had time to sit down and decorate my guy...
Oh, and Jocelyn's was made to look like Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba. I think we did pretty good!
I can't remember which year this tradition started, but boy do we love doing it! I found a post from 4 years ago if you want to see how cute and little my big kids were :)
Anyone else bake special cookies during the holiday season?
