"Photo Shoot"

And I put that in quotes, because I am not a photographer, especially when it comes to my own kids as the subject. Brian's mother was sweet enough to send a classic sailor outfit for Jayce to wear at Eastertime. I wanted to get his picture professionally made in it, but finances prevented me from doing it at Sears. Instead, I followed Jayce around with a camera all morning. We took pictures in our front yard, in our neighbor's yard and also at Milliken. Although it was "easier" to have Jayce in his natural environment verses a back drop at a portrait studio, it was still difficult to get quality pictures of an ever-moving subject! Oh well, that's what two year olds are for! I've recently discovered that Picasa editing is NOT over my head, so I have been playing around with it. Enjoy!

Fun with mom

Sometimes its hard being the "Big Girl" when you watch your parents do everything for your little brother, all the time.

Lately Jaina's been asking me, "Where are MY cuddles?" after I have just sat down on the couch to nurse and hold Jayce.

"You never talk to ME like that" after she hears me say to Jayce, "Look! What's that, Jayce? Is it a circle? Cir-cle. That's right!!!"

So, I've been trying to carve out some more one-on-one time with my adorable daughter. She chose to spend our time Saturday painting our nails :)

She amazes me all the time at really how "big" she is getting. She can shake the bottles, open them up, and very carefully paint her own nails herself. Jaina loves to have "pattern nails" where every nail is a different color.

We did toes, too :)

Crazy weeks ahead

We bought a house.

Well, technically we put an offer on a house and it was accepted. I've learned that anything can happen until our closing date on May 31st.

Also, next week is Jayce's birthday. Then Jaina's dance recital. Then Jaina's birthday. Then we move.

I'm starting to feel overwhelmed!

Easter 2007

Easter 2007

Tradition says in our house that we must go down to Atlanta and spend it with the grandparents. Unfortunately, Daddy is very anti-easter (except for the chocolate bunnies of course!), so we have not celebrated another Easter in our home since Jaina's first Easter at 10 months old.

We had a fun time as usual. It was special this Easter visit because my Grandma Staska (Great-grandma Elsie, as she is called by Jaina) was staying with my parents. Growing up I was very close to my Grandmother, even though she had over 20 grandchildren!

The kids enjoyed playing the piano. As a former pianist myself, I have high hopes that both kids will have the desire to learn to play. But we need a piano first! And first we have to move!

Jayce was such a cutie in his Easter outfit! I looked for weeks to find him a matching shirt/vest that would go with Jaina's dress. I totally lucked out when I found his combo for $4 at a consignment sale!

href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sa-U46Dmn8I/RiDgwq2VmpI/AAAAAAAAAHA/2NV4G6GlQi4/s1600-h/jaina.jpg"> Jaina was a bit wild this trip. I don't know if it was the lack of sleep, no nap, or the fact that it was freezing cold the entire weekend which kept us indoors, but man alive, she was hard to handle. I think I need a vacation from our vacation to Georgia!

It was super cute seeing how much Jayce loves his grandpa. Jayce has extreme stranger anxiety and typically doesn't like anyone but me, his dad, or his Grandma Gray. But he some how remembers his grandparents and his Aunt in Atlanta enough to feel right at ease.

Not to be outdone, we had to have a picture with Jaina and her grandpa :)

Jaina adored her Great-grandma Elsie. Grandma Staska was amused by Jaina's activeness, toys, and kiddie shows on TV. Jaina had lots of hugs for her.

So, we sold our house

Now, what do we do? We don't have a house to move into yet! And we all know how picky Brian is!

Wish us luck! At least the hard part is over, everyone tells us.
