Catching Up : Random April Pictures

April was a pretty busy month! Some of our activities deserve their own posts, but these can just be lumped together.

Jayce was chosen as a "Leader of the Pack" which is like a Terrific Kid award, but just for Middle School. We went to a BSMS Student Spotlight where he was honored.

We enjoyed cool temps that weren't too cold and played chalk outside in the sunshine.

Jocelyn went through a painting phase. I honestly can't remember what she was painting in this picture. Something for LPS and her You Tube videos. She has her own channel and everything!

My husband's company that he works for had free tickets to a Greenville Drive game. It was HBCU (Historical Black Colleges and Universities) night so the Drive didn't play, but Morehouse did! Since I'm from Atlanta, of course I was pulling for Morehouse!

We had to wait forever for the trolly, so we ended up walking to Fluor Field instead.

Jocelyn had a BLAST and loved the energy from the baseball game! She danced and sang and pretty much ran amok.

Catching Up : Easter 2018

We had a very low-key Easter this year. I didn't even get the Easter decor boxes out of the attic. Jocelyn is really at the age where she doesn't care about all the old stuffed bunnies and toys that I've kept over the years. And I know this is silly... but my Easter decor does not go with my living room, which is typically Fall colors like terra cotta, red, gold, and brown. Pastels kind of clash.

We did manage to dye eggs as a family, though.

(Yes, that's a Perry Egg that Brian made)

The Easter bunny came, but not a single person got their own stuffed bunny. Jocelyn wanted a Flareon (Pokemon Evie-lution)

Then we went over to Robert and Nancy's house to see Thad, Danielle, and Logan.

The big kids spent their Easter with Grandma. They went out to eat and just spent time together. We took pictures when we picked them up.

I love my mommy and am so glad we got pictures with her that day!

Catching Up : March Easter Egg Hunt

Since this is the first year we've had a child in Kindergarten at Covenant, I didn't realize that it was tradition to hold the annual Easter egg hunt at a student's home instead of at the school. We were so thankful for Jocelyn's buddy Reid for stepping up and inviting the entire Kindergarten class (and the parents!) for crafts, lunch, and an egg hunt.

The kids had a blast!

Catching Up: SC Comic Con

Jaina and I arrived home from NYC at 8 AM on a Sunday morning. Jaina promptly went to bed for the rest of the day, but I had some cuddle time on the couch with my Jocelyn to make up for!

The next day, Jaina was already worried about her cosplay costumes for SC Comic Con that next weekend.

Grandma to the rescue!

Okay, let's see if I can get this right...

Jaina was going for this look by this character. She's Shirayuki from Snow White with the Red Hair (an anime).

But first, she went as a character from Attack on Titans because she was meeting some friends from school that wanted her to join their cosplay group.

Our friend Sadie went with us on Saturday. She was representing a character, Germany, from the Hetalia: Axis Powers Anime.

We went back on Sunday, this time with Jocelyn and Brian. Brian was no fun and didn't cosplay.

Jocelyn was Sylveon from Pokemon.

Both girls entered the costume contest. Jocelyn was VERY dismayed to find out she didn't win. She thought she was the cutest, hands down!

She did see a girl cosplaying as Sunset Shimmer, so she asked to take a picture with her.

And of course, shopping for Japanese and Korean items made everything better.

Next year we hope to convince Jayce to come, too!
