21 Months

Three more months until I will finally stop counting her age by months.

Jocelyn truly is growing up right before my eyes. She is becoming more and more independent every day.

I took her in our backyard for our monthly photo shoot hoping that she would be easier to contain in a fenced in back yard.

She loves to play outside, even in the cold. Just the other day, when we woke up to freezing temperatures, she asked to play "ou-side". I took her hand to the window and said, "Its cold. Too cold to play outside." She repeated, "Its cold" and then added, "And wet."

Jocelyn is totally fearless outside.

She could totally care less at the suggested age of play on our playset.

And after many many months of trying to get pictures of her standing on her own and taking a few independent steps....

I finally caught her in the act!

She's learning that its okay to fall down. You just get right back up again.

And when you can't walk, its okay to crawl towards the finish line.

Her language has exploded this past month. It would take me too long to write down everything she says. Its so cute to hear her ask questions now, like "Who's that? What's that?" and to assign possession to objects. "Mommy's toothbrush? Dada's pillow?"

Sometimes I look at Jocelyn and think that she's the most beautiful soul in the world. (Next to her siblings, of course!) My life is infinitely better because she is part of our family.

Let's hope I still feel that way in a few months and that the two's are more "terrific!" than "terrible" :)

Ever since I got my new Samsung Galaxy S III last week, I've been trying to, but have been unsuccessful with, mobile blogging.

Not quite sure what's up. All I know is that it says, "Your post has failed to publish". That's it. No reason why the post has failed to publish.

I feel like if I don't get it working any time soon, this blog will be on hiatus until Christmas time. My only free time these days are during the big kids' tumbling class and watching their various sporting events and practices. Nap time, which has shrunk, is sacred time and I work like a fiend on my photography business during those short hours.

We stay constantly busy with little to no downtime. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I believe we only have 3 baseball games left. Only two football games to cheer at and one last soccer game. We can do this! Or, that's what I keep telling myself.

In the mean time, I'll continue to snap photos of our every day stuff on my (new) phone camera and document our life any way I can :)

Jr Beta Club

She must get her academic smarts from Brian :)

Jaina was inducted into the Jr. Beta Club last Thursday. It is a scholarly service club  with academic requirements.

The Principal led the induction.

She may have inherited Brian's smarts, but she's got my posture :)

At first, she didn't even want to be in Beta Club. She thought it was boring. And she didn't care about induction. But by the end, she was pretty pleased at her accomplishment.

There are over 300 members in Beta Club from her middle school, but only 160+ are active. Jaina was one of a handful of new inductees.

Jaina's friend from Kindergarten was inducted, too.

Her favorite part was the snacks :)

In the Front Yard

There's a chill in the air and dew on the grass every morning now. I could get behind this change in seasons if the afternoons would stop being 80+ degrees. :) Either way, the mornings are a great time to play outside.

Since Jocelyn still isn't walking well yet, she gets completely soaked crawling through the wet tall grass out in our backyard. We've taken to playing out in front instead. Bubbles, tunnels, balls, and side walk chalk occupy little ones.

Normally I leave pictures of my babysitting kids off my blog out of respect for privacy, but their mom allowed me to put these same images on FB, so they are already "out there", if you know what I mean.

10 on 10: October Pumpkin Spice

ten on ten button
Check out all the other 10 on 10 entries here:

Here is my day in pictures:

(The next 3 hours was spent waiting in various school pick up lines. Thursdays are my crazy pick up days since Jayce has Honor Chorus)

(And yes, we were in fact at this little park for close to 3 hours. Jayce had a super long baseball practice at the field across the street. Thank goodness for this park!)

The Season of Sports

Brian and I are not huge sports fans, nor were we athletic at all in our youth, but boy do we love to watch our kids play!

And even if they aren't the best on their team, its awesome to watch them play their best :)

Some nights we go and watch Jaina cheer at 6:00 PM and then Brian picks up Jayce from the football field to have him over to his baseball game by 7:00 PM. Then the girls and I pack up from cheerleading and head over to watch Jayce finish his game.

Jocelyn is a great spectator :) She entertains herself with books, snacks, and climbing/crawling all over the fields and bleachers.

Not gonna lie... baseball is my favorite sport to watch. Even if Jayce doesn't decide to play next year, I'll probably go watch some of his friend's games :P

Jaina scored a goal at her soccer game last Saturday. Here she is with control over the ball...

And this is the picture I took when she was actually scoring the goal.

Yep. A lovely picture of the sky. I got so excited to see her score that I wasn't watching where my camera was pointed. Epic fail, sports mom!

Its really fun to be a part of winning teams. Jaina's soccer team has shut out almost every other team in every game. (Only one game was one goal scored on them). Jayce's team has won the majority of their games, too.

So, Jocelyn's not really into sports yet, but she does like to swing and slide!

We have been enjoying beautiful Fall weather here the past two days! We've even had to grab some jackets to take with us! Hopefully we'll have some pretty leaves to play in soon!
