Catching Up: NYC in March

Jaina and Jayce have been in some sort of choral ensemble since they were both in 2nd grade in Elementary school. They love to sing! And thankfully they are both better than their mom and dad at carrying a tune!

Being in HS Chorus comes with perks! Like a trip to New York City! When Jaina found out that her chorus teacher was taking a group this year, we both signed up. First of all, I wasn't about to let my 15 year old head to the city by herself. Secondly, I was jealous because I had never been to NYC and couldn't wait to go! I'm glad Jaina didn't mind me chaperoning too much :P

It was FREEZING!! We didn't see snow, although it was in the forecast. We packed a whole lotta fun in 72 hours!

We saw:

- Times Square
- China Town
- Madison Square Garden
- World Trade Center
- School of Rock
- Aladdin
- Trinity Church
- Radio City Music Hall
- Ellen's Stardust Cafe

I was in charge of 9 girls by myself in the city. I have to say that I completely lucked out and got a GREAT group of girls! Everyone followed my directions and didn't give me attitude. And I only lost one of them for 10 minutes at the Knicks game :P

We can't wait to go back!

Catching Up: Early March

We were SO busy in March that there is no way I'd be able to fit it all into one blog post. So, let's start with the first week.

Jaina ordered a new cosplay costume from online and recruited her sister to cosplay as well.

The characters are Bee and Puppycat from the show Bee and Puppycat from 2013. There is also a comic book about said characters.

The plan was to wear them at SC Comic Con in Greenville later that March, but Jaina ultimately chose two other characters to cosplay as. I'm glad we got these pictures when we did!

The next few pictures are from a lazy saturday morning. I made waffles, Jocelyn drew animals on her sketch pad, and Jaina cuddled the dog in her bed.

Next up, Jaina and I take a trip to NYC with her HS Chorus!

Catching Up: February 2018

Moving right along...

February brought us more Bi-Polar weather. Would it be 27 degrees outside? Or 77? When it was the latter, we played outside as much as we could.

Jocelyn's newest clothes obsession is from a line called Dot Dot Smile. Of course it's not sold in any stores and consultants don't get to pick their inventory, kinda like Lularoe, but Jocelyn has had no problem finding patterns she likes. Every Dot Dot Smile dress twirls beautifully and she loves modeling it for me.

Obviously these next pictures were taken during a heat wave in February :)

Our family got another turn at hosting the 5K class pet named Cottonball. Jocelyn is still asking for a hamster.

Jayce's vision changed a bunch (along with his voice, hair on his upper lip, and his shoe size!) so he picked out a new pair of glasses. He's not quite ready for contacts yet.

And when the weather wasn't so nice, there was a lot of You Tube watching, live streaming game playing, and LPS videos to be made.

Calico Critter playsets make great accessories for LPS videos!

A little LPS on the Wii! This used to be Jaina's game back when we first got the Nintendo Wii. Glad we are getting our money's worth!

It must have been National Dog day in February, or else I just feel guilty that I don't have many pictures of Shaggy.

Oh, and we all got the flu. It wasn't fun.

I also ended up in the ER at GHS about a week after I recovered from the flu. We still don't know if it was a random virus or a horrible migraine, but I had severe head and ear pain (with no ear infection) and my doctor suspected another blood clot. Thank goodness it wasn't anything and I was better 48 hours later :)

Whew! February packed quite a punch for the shortest month of the year.

Jaina and Brian were good... I'm sure there was a reason why I didn't snap any photos of them. Probably because they are not so willing :)

Catching Up: January 2018

I am a FREE woman!!

(okay, not really, but I recently left my part time job to spend the Summer home with my kids, so I feel like a free woman!)

I'll never get around to posting each and every little thing we did in the past 6 months, but I'm going to write a blog post about each month I missed.

Here's what we did:

Cuddled stuffed animals

Went on an adventure at the park! We first played Hide and Go Seek together and then went exploring in the woods!

I grabbed a picture of my middle kid since we realized in December that we didn't have enough Jayce pictures!

I started shooting for Belle Magazine last Summer and collected a bunch of issues to send to the graphic designer who lives in Charleston.

The weather was very mild on some days, so we colored with sidewalk chalk. Even Jaina, the elusive teen, joined in!

She even got Jayce to come outside and ride scooters!

Jocelyn and Jayce are still going strong with their martial arts classes at Revolution.

And, of course, there was lots of You Tube watching.

Then we celebrated Jocelyn's birthday at the YMCA.

I'm thankful for my talented friends at Graham Street Photography for the pictures so I could enjoy the party!
