First Popsicle

And boy did Jayce like it a lot! Thanks to big sister, who picked out these awesome Dora popsicle treats at the store last weekend, the whole family got to share in the fun. Supposedly they are made with real fruit juice and they taste good, too! Jaina made me look through the entire package to find her a "star" one!

Girls Night In

With Brian out and about last Friday night, Jaina and I decided to pamper ourselves a bit. First, we used some Mary Kay foot spa stuff and soaked our feet. Jayce just sat by the tub and splashed a bit. I guess he's not ready to care about dry calloused feet yet :)

Then after putting Jayce down to sleep, Jaina and I had a luxurious bubble bath (sorry, no pictures!) where she pretended to shave with a bladeless razor. My four year old who wants to be 14 instead! She says she can't wait to be old enough to drive a car and other such things. My baby is growing up too fast!

We decided on the Disney movie "Robin Hood" since that was my favorite movie growing up. Jaina was very sweet to let me watch my favorite movie. She picked the snack, green grapes, and we lounged on the couch in our PJ's.

Then Gray came over to spend the night since her power was out, so Jaina and her grandma slept on the pull-out bed. It was a fun night!

Way too hot for June!

Normally our grass doesn't die until August. Not the case this summer! Oh well, we will have to start fresh in the fall. And win the lottery so we can purchase an underground sprinkler system!

Since its so hot, the kids have taken to indoor activities. Yesterday was Jayce's first time ever fingerpainting. He liked dipping his finger in the paint, but then didn't like the fact that his hands were messy. Poor guy! But he had fun. And thanks to it being Milliken paint, it was super easy to clean up! Jaina is becoming quite the artist. She loves to draw people the most. Its just been in the past few months that her people have become more people looking and less stick-figurish.

I wish I could say I've been scrapbooking as my indoor activity, but I haven't. I am so far behind in the kids' albums. Most of my time is spent organizing our digital pictures on our computer :)

As I was making lunch for my kids plus my friend Jessica's kids, Jayce decided to play in the just used toilet upstairs thanks to Jaina forgetting to flush and put the lid back down. Can we say EWWWWWWW??? I didn't grab a picture. Instead, Jayce went straight for the bath. Now I am trying to muster up the strength to go clean the bathroom!

We've decided to take Jaina out of gymnastics for the month of July. Either she is getting bored or doesn't like her teacher, but she is not doing well in her summer classes. When the fall session comes around in August, I think I'll give her a few options (ballet, tap, gymnastics, soccer, etc) to see if she wants to do something else. There is also another gym in town that has a more structured program. We might try that.

Matching outfits

For some reason, I am having trouble posting pictures on my blog!? I have the cutest picture of Jayce and Jaina wearing matching outfits my mom made. Internet Explorer chooses not to respond when I am finished uploading my picture. Oh well, Brian would just say its because I don't use Linux!
Never mind... its working now!

Jayce's new tricks

The past week has really been exciting for Jayce! Last wednesday, he took his first independent steps ever! He loves getting positive attention for his walking efforts and looks to make sure everyone there is watching. Give him another week, and he'll be off and running!

New words this week: Bubbles, daaaa-doh (for doggie), and bye-bye, complete with the waving. Its too cute!

How sad is it that I have to rely on video and pictures to remember Jaina at that age? My memory has gotten worse with time.
