Parent Week at Dance

I started writing this post 9 days ago. It's just been sitting in my draft section since then.

And that, my friends, is basically an accurate depiction of my life right now.

Jaina has been taking contemporary jazz dance since January 2015 at a local studio not far from our house. Jocelyn watched her older sister with awe for months and then begged over the summer to take dance classes as well. Since parents can't sit in with the dance classes like they can do with tumbling, I was hesitant to let her participate. I decided to wait until she started pre-school and was also 100% potty trained and accident free.

She started her ballet and tap combo class the week after Labor Day. And she loves it!

Watching three year olds dance is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

I finally remembered to bring my big camera to Jaina's class as well!

I'm so proud of Jaina and how hard she's worked the past year at dance. She's learned SO much in such a short amount of time. Her goal is to make it onto one of the competition teams. That's a lot of work!

Although dance night is long for me and requires a ton of driving back and forth for drop offs and pick ups, it's totally worth it to see how happy my girls are.

Ten on Ten: November 2015 Sun Edition

ten on ten button

You can participate or check out more Ten on Ten contributions here:

After two and a half months of almost constant rain (and no... I'm not even kidding!), the SUN came out yesterday!!! It was a wonderful day with my kids :)

After dropping Jayce off to school, I came home and just enjoyed the sunrise.

Then it was off to take Jocelyn to pre-school:

Back home, Jaina and I enjoyed a walk together. She was playing hooky from school due to a field trip that she was not allowed to go on due to grades.

Every year, I wish my Thanksgiving Decorations were as cool as my Halloween ones.

Hi Jaina!

Little Miss ate soup for lunch and then had to get all that chicken out that was stuck in her teeth!

I forgot to take a picture at Jayce's school when we picked him up early for a dentist appointment, whoops! Look at those blue skies!!

Cavity free check ups!

Home to do homework really quickly...

A few minutes later, we all packed up in the car to take Grandma's Christmas pictures. But we were back home in less than an hour to get ready for dance.

I can't wait to share dance pictures next up on the blog!

Halloween 2015

Another Halloween is in the books! Where on earth has this year gone?

This year we had a My Little Pony named Pinkie Pie:

And a Black Cat:

And a Taco:

Jocelyn refused any more pictures, of course.

We went Trick Or Treating at our friend Monica's house first. It's a yearly tradition!

Monica has full sized candy bars so her house is the best, hands down :)

As soon as we got home, Pinkie Pie didn't want to be a pony any more.

She turned into a kind of scary white and golden kitty.

Jocelyn was totally a copy cat :P

Our pumpkins turned out awesome.

Jaina and Jayce were able to carve their pumpkins completely on their own. It was so nice to only have to carve Jocelyn's. I just wish Jocelyn hadn't picked such a complicated design! She was upset because I couldn't find a Sunset Shimmer pattern. Aunt Jami promises to make one for her next year :)

All in all, it was a great, but fast, holiday. I cannot believe that Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!

Pre-Halloween Part 2

One of our other Halloween traditions is to take pictures using our neighbor's gorgeous tree. We aren't lucky enough to have any trees with beautiful Fall foliage in our own yard. Our neighbor Mary Ann is incredibly sweet and says we can use her yard any time!

There was a lot of goofiness going on during this session.

Then Brian and I attended the annual Halloween Parade at Jocelyn's preschool. I was disappointed to hear that it would be inside, instead of outside, like it usually is.

Jocelyn decided to be Pinkie Pie instead of a kitty. I know her teachers are thankful for not having glitter in their classroom!

Jocelyn runs around (literally) with two other little girls at school. They all pretend they are ponies. Funny, but her sister did the same thing when she was in 3K at this same school!

That night we were able to carve our pumpkins! Brian had to do some stuff for the upcoming school board election so we were on our own.

Jaina and Jayce picked out their own patterns and completely carved their pumpkins 100% without help.

That left me to attempt a Pinkie Pie pumpkin for my little Pinkie Pie.

How did the end results turn out?? Just stay tuned...
