Mother's Day 2014

Best. Day. Ever.

And believe me, I can't say that about a lot of past Mother's Days :) Bless Brian's little heart... he sure is learning after almost 13 years :)

We started out with morning cuddles with our littlest one:

I kept reminding her that it was Mother's Day, which means it was Mommy's Special Day. Got to indoctrinate them while they are young :)

Then we all squished in Brian's car to go out for breakfast.

Jaina bought me the bottle cap necklace with the "J" on it from a girl that makes them at her middle school.

While we waited for a table, Jayce won me an owl at the Skill crane in the lobby.

Breakfast was awesome :)

Then we went home and chilled for a bit while Brian did all the grocery shopping himself. I hate going grocery shopping every week with three whiny kids, so this was quite a treat!

Then Brian took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese's while I went shopping all by myself.  That almost never happens!

I tried on clothes at Old Navy for over an hour. I ended up with a new bathing suit, two new tops, and two new tanks. Thanks Brian!! :)

Jocelyn thinks Chuck E. Cheese's is just as good as Disney World, so she really likes this whole Mother's Day thing.

Then we hit Costco, where I picked out some flowers for myself, and then we headed for home.

My mom gifted me with another beautiful Willow Tree. This is the one thing I collect.

I also got a paper cutter because my two kids have somehow lost mine. Now I don't have to borrow my mom's anymore :)

For dinner, Brian grilled hot dogs so I basically got out of cooking the entire day. Score!

I thought middle schoolers didn't make their mommies crafts at school anymore, but Jaina's science teacher said they had to :) We love Mrs. Johnson!

Since I didn't get to spend a lot of time with my mom on Sunday, we went out to lunch today instead.

It was a great Mother's Day :) I got to spend time with my family AND have some alone time. Perfect!

  1. Fun! I'm so glad that they took care of you on Mother's Day! :) Looks like a very nice day. (And I agree on the shopping...it's miserable with 3 whiny kids. It's fresh in my mind since we just returned from our weekly shopping trip. haha.)

  3. I'm glad you had a fun day! I'm love shopping by myself. It's the best. Your time will come when they are all in school.

Oh, and in response to your blog comment, yes, you should watch Parenthood. A boy has Aspergers in the show and does an amazing job.
