I Feel Busy! Oh, so Busy!

(and yes, you can now have the song, "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story stuck in your head all day, like it was for me yesterday! You're welcome!)

So, its been one of those weeks around here again! Those weeks where every single minute of my life (and consequently, my children's lives as well) are scheduled with no breathing room whatsoever.

Sigh.

On Monday morning, we finally got the authorization for Jayce's ABA hours. YAY!

And then it started.

Have you ever tried to to cram 20 extra hours into your already packed week? Yeah. Its kinda like that.

But, looking on the bright side, Jayce is handling it very well. He LOVES his new therapists. They play puzzles and color pictures and play with his Batcave. In between those fun things, they work on 10 different programs that are designed to improve his speech and communication skills. When he finishes a program, he gets to have a 10 minute break. During his break, he can either play DS, Wii, or watch TV. Its the perfect reward system for him.

While Jayce is working with his therapists, I catch up on all the laundry, dishes, emails, phone calls, and randomness that makes up my non-mommy time. The two hour therapy block goes by fast!

Then Jayce heads to preschool for 3 more hours of the day. That time away from him is scheduled as well. Mondays and Wednesdays are spent exercising with my friend Tarah. If its nice out (sunny and above 50), we walk 2 miles in my hilly neighborhood. If its not, then we usually do my pilates video. On Wednesday, however, we tried something new. Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred. Tarah picked up this DVD after I recommended it to her from reading all of YOUR blogs about it.

And I thought I was going to die after 20 minutes of Level 1. If you've done this video, I am sure you understand why. I'm STILL sore. The soreness only came after my legs and arms felt like wiggly spaghetti noodles all day afterwards.

Tuesday lunches are spent running errands. That's library day, bank day, shopping day, etc... you get the picture.

Thursday lunches are "meeting days". I either go to La Leche League or have Autism Support group.

Fridays are "Taco Bell Days". If you are my friend in real life (IRL) or from APU, you guys are used to it. For my newer blog readers, you may not know that my husband is a little OCD. For the past 8+ years that I've known him, he's been eating lunch on Fridays at the same Taco Bell in our town. The manager knows us, as well as all the daytime workers. They even know his special order with no meat.

After lunch, its time for Jayce to get off the bus. We immediately pile in the car to go get Jaina from school. Because she attends a school outside of our "zone", I have to agree to provide transportation. I let Jayce have his DSi in the car and he is happy as a clam for the 45 minutes round trip.

As soon as we get home, Jayce has more therapy. I take this time to help Jaina with her homework and piano practicing. Then its time to think about dinner, baths, and bedtime. The second I shut the kids' bedroom door, I have two choices. Either come up here and check APU, email, facebook, and blogs. Or go crawl in bed and read.

This week the choice has been reading (hence the lack of posts on my blog!) because I have Book Club tonight. We read the book Nefertiti by Michelle Moran. You can get the book from Target. I highly recommend it! I never pick up historical fiction on my own, but we often pick those kinds of books for our monthly selection. And I always love them!

So, that was my week in a nutshell. OH! And it was my mom's birthday. So we made cupcakes to celebrate!

And took her out to eat!

And tried to get a nice picture of my mom with her grandkids..."tried" being the operative word.

And it was also Valentine's Day Party Day at both schools! More cupcakes!

We also handmade Jaina's valentine cards. The card read, "I only have eyes for you"

Oh, and don't forget cheerleading! Only 3 more games! I'm teaching the girls a pom routine to perform at 1/2 time for their very last game!
(I had video to insert here, but I just realize that you can here *me* on the video louder than the girls cheering! Whoops!)

Whew. Can I be done now?

Come on weekend!
