Before and After Blog Hop: Monkey Joe's

Boy have I missed blogging! Now that I've cut some stressors out of my life (more on that later!), I feel like I can blog in my spare time. Because I have spare time now. Isn't it lovely?

So, my friend Anita came into town last week and we all took the kids to Monkey Joe's. Her niece, Gwen, came along for the ride. She just loves bouncy places! But unfortunately she wasn't feeling well, so she mainly sat on the couch sipping on an Icee.

The best white balance setting on my camera was pretty hard to figure out since we were close to the windows (natural light!) but under the florescent lamps (artificial light!) so I was kind of at a loss. I also didn't pay much attention to the cropping in this photo.

It was taken with my Canon Rebel XTi and my 50 mm 1.8 lens.

I fooled around with some tuning in Picasa and then tried two different tints on the image to give it more of a "vintage" look.

I just downloaded the newest version of "Dark Table" which is a LightRoom for linux users. I have NO idea how to use it! But I have the manual downloaded and will read it in my newly found spare time :) I can't wait to figure out how to do noise reduction!

  1. I love it. The noise reduction thing shouldn't be too hard to figure out. It is usually just a click or two!
