Metering in Manual
I did it! I finally took the plunge and shot in manual (M) mode on my camera!!!
And this is what I got:

YIKES!
Since my subject wasn't moving, I quickly re-adjusted my shutter speed (since I had already picked my aperture that I wanted to use) and really paid attention to the little green scale inside my camera. And I tried again.

Hopping over from the Blog Frog to check you out :) Glad to know that manual mode CAN be done! My whole second blog (Mommy's Camera) is about getting out of the auto mode on my point and shoot camera. I can't afford a DSLR so I'm working with what I have!
ReplyDeleteYeah for you!!!!!!!!! Now you can start delving into different exposures (Spot, matrix, centered). I love spot metering, did most of the wedding I shot in SPOT and centered.
ReplyDeleteManual mode is fun. My meter JUMPS around like crazy outdoors. I still get screwed up photos. I am trying to learn more about histograms and Exposing To The Right (ETTR)
I have you of the Sunny 16 rule? that's a fun one. Check it out on Wikipedia
