Some ME time
I've never been that great at setting aside "ME" time since Jaina was born. But I guess I've learned over the past 6 years that stress= mean mommy and balanced= happy mommy. And I have to be honest. My kids kinda stress me out a lot. So, I've decided to do something about that.
1. I joined an informal "walking club". Just me, Jessica, Jeanne, and Dana from MOMS Club. We walk 4 miles MWF either at the mall or on the walking trail. At first it sucked because I was so out of shape I couldn't even make it the whole 4 miles on level ground. But now? I love it. It doesn't even feel like a chore anymore. I've also made friends with a new local neighbor and will be walking 1 mile in our extremely hilly neighborhood on Tuesdays and Thursdays. THIS is killing me, but I know I'm just working those muscles!
2. I joined a Book Club. Its mainly comprised of moms from MOMS Club, but has a lot of other members as well. We read one book a month, then get together at someone's home to discuss it, sans kids. Everyone brings either wine or an appetizer and we let loose for a few hours :) Not a whole lot of talking about the book gets done, but its fun nonetheless. This month we are reading "Plain Truth". I'll let you know how it goes :)
3. I've been attending Mom's Night Out faithfully in our MOMS Club. I'm now budgeting money for it so I have no reason to skip. We eat at a restaurant, then usually end up back at someone's house to talk until Midnight. Or 1:00 AM. Or 2:00 AM (Or, like last month, 2:30 AM!)
4. I've been scrapbooking again :) I've only got a few albums started, none of them complete. I've done Jaina's birth until her first birthday, so that is my current goal with Jayce's album. Here's some pages:

Wow, how inspirational. I am so happy for you. That's so great you found some "Me" time. Your scrapbook inspires me to start one for my boys. I have all the supplies, just need a "jumpstart" You did a great job. Can you or your mom come down and do mine? *LOL*
ReplyDeleteThat's really good with the walking club, walking outside makes the time go by faster and it's good for the mind and spirit. Congrats to you. xoxo
I am not so good at "ME" time either... scrapbook looks great! I love scrapbooking! -Angie
